Abucay Mayor Robin Tagle announced that a dialysis treatment center will soon cater to patients with renal complications in this town, free of charge.
The program, which is in partnership with St. Dominic Dialysis Center, a private health provider, will start operation by mid-March this year.
Tagle said the program is part of the municipality’s vision of providing free health services to its constituents pending the approval of the Comprehensive Renal Replacement Therapy Act and several other House Bills which aim to provide free medical check-up annually to all Filipinos.
The mayor said the program aims to provide sets of policies on peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis to make these therapies available and affordable to all constituents.
About 40 patients in Abucay are expected to be catered by the dialysis center.
The Sangguniang Bayan of Abucay led by Vice Mayor Roberto Pabustan, Jr. has authorized the construction of a dialysis clinic at the Abucay Arcade and approved the corresponding funds to accommodate the needs of St. Dominic Dialysis Center.
